About the Doctor

Dr. Bhakta is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and The American Board of Pain Medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/ Pre-Medicine from the University of Memphis in Memphis, TN. He then continued on to medical school at East Tennessee State University and subsequently completed his internship and anesthesiology residency at the University of Tennessee Memphis where he developed an interest in pain management. To get additional training, he completed a fellowship in pain medicine at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. After spending most of his life in Tennessee, he moved to Tulsa the fall of 2000 to begin private practice.
Dr. Bhakta is a strong believer in a multidisciplinary approach to pain management realizing that successful treatment involves not only nerve blocks and medications but patient education and life-style modification.
